Established in 1982, RMP is a unique Training and Research Academy, primarily aimed at enhancing the capabilities of voluntary activists and elected representatives of the people. RMP has an excellent state-of-the-art training facility spread over 15 acres of land on the outskirts of Mumbai, known as Knowledge Excellence Centre (KEC). RMP-KEC will be the host campus for the PGP course being conducted by IIDL.

Of all the challenges that humanity faces today, one of the

greatest, and possibly the gravest, is overcoming the crisis of leadership. It is due to this crisis that we are plagued with the pressing concern for a prospering present and a promising future. There is today, undoubtedly, a serious dearth of leadership. And this is not only reflected in the contemporary political scene, but is experienced practically in every aspect of life, whether its business, academics, culture, literature, social service or sports. We need capable leaders who lead from the front and, collectively, are willing to guide humanity into a better tomorrow.

In order to re-establish the phenomenon of activist-turned-leader, it is necessary that individual activists are groomed for leadership, their talents shaped and their skills honed with the help of training and orientation. Off late, many experts have contemplated over the issue of leadership crisis.

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, an extra-ordinary visionary and one of the principal thinkers of the nationalist school of thought, had conceived the idea of an academy for such socio-political activists. However, before Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay could translate this vision into reality, he was brutally murdered. After the abrupt and unfortunate departure of Panditji,  Rambhau Mhalgi, a prominent political figure from Maharashtra, made it his responsibility to materialize his idea into reality. This is how a concept propounded by two eminent thinker and activists came into existence in the form of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP).

The Prabodhini is an academy for the training and orientation of socio-political activists and a centre for overall public-awakening activities and research projects. Initially, it was launched as a memorial of Late Rambhau Mhalgi. In 1982, RMP was established as a unique Training and Research Academy, primarily aimed at enhancing the capabilities of voluntary activists and elected representatives of the people. However, over the years it has blossomed into a multi-dimensional institute imparting training to elected representatives, activists, civil servants and journalists. Currently, the institute also provides corporate training facilities, accommodation and recreation facilities to corporate houses.

RMP has a diverse and rich experience of 38 years of bestowing capacity building and leadership training to elected representatives, grass root volunteers as well as government and non-government workers. The institute also provides functional and leadership training to police officers, trustees, principals and non-academic staff of educational institutions. In addition to imparting training, RMP has also been active in executing research projects concerning socially pertinent issues including those of the backward classes and rural communities.

RMP’s research reports on ‘Open Defecation Free – Issues in The Institutionalization of Success” and “Study of Socio-Economic Development and Security Paradigm in The Border Districts of Rajasthan” were not only widely appreciated but also made a contribution to the policy documents of the government. Moreover, due to inroads into local voluntary organizations and rapport with social workers across the country, RMP has been able to successfully conduct many public awakening programmes or information-education-communication seminars, conferences and symposia. Many of such programmes were in partnership and support of the government.

A unique institutional profile, proven track record of professional working and subject expertise for more than three decades are reasons that have earned RMP recognitions that further makes it a very competitive and preferred option to execute government programmes, projects or schemes.

With abundant local exposure, understanding and network, RMP operates nationally through its offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. In Thane district of Maharashtra RMP has its training centre named Knowledge Excellence Centre (KEC), spread over 15 acres in a picturesque locale with world class training infrastructure and a residential capacity of about 250 participants. Corporates, government departments as well NGOs regularly use KEC and its residential facility for conducting their meetings, brainstorming sessions and trainings.
